Mexican Painting Night

SUN, AUG 4 AT 6.30 PM – 8.30 PM

Join us for a fun filled evening learning to paint watercolour cacti. Sarah will talk you through every step, from drawing to painting and adding your final details in pen. Half way through the evening you will enjoy a delicious Mexican inspired meal, as well as your welcome drink. This will be our last painting night until Christmas as Sarah goes off for maternity leave, so let’s make it the best one yet! Sunday Afternoon Live Music Session with Tennessee Waltz

We’ve been planning this Sunday afternoon session for a while now and are so excited to bring this live music session to our venue. Come along and relax and enjoy an afternoon of live music in the sunshine listening to Tennessee Waltz. TENNESSEE WALTZ – Tennessee Waltz are a close-harmony acoustic country/folk duo from Cheshire, comprising:
• Jimmy Rae – vocals, guitar and harmonica
• Sarah-Lou Fletcher – vocals, guitar, mandolin and percussion.

They have been writing and performing together since 2016, steadily building their following and reputation around North West England and Wales, with two albums released to date and numerous live appearances on stage as well as regional festivals, TV and radio. Their engaging live shows feature a blend of finely crafted original songs along with classic covers from their musical heroes including The Everly Brothers, Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Emmylou Harris.

Fish Fryday

FRI, AUG 30 AT 4:30 PM

Beer Battered fish and chips, and much more (including a vegan option) are back on the last Friday of every month from March to August, 4.30-7.30pm. We love the spring and summer and the warmer, lighter evenings. The forest is beautiful in the evenings, less crowded, the sunlight glistening down through the trees, and the sunsets to watch from Old Pale heights. Our Friday evening offering is available to walk-ins, but we do advise pre-ordering and/or reserving a table. We operate an eat in, eat outside, or take away service. To minimise waste we do love our customers to pre-order in advance, and these pre-orders can be taken up to 7 days in advance. Book Club

Finding that you lose motivation to read, or are easily distracted from finishing a book? Fancy being part of a friendly, easy going group? Love reading and sharing your thoughts on books with others? Enjoy listening to other peoples views on books? Want to make new friends? Then why not join this very informal book club. We meet every 6 weeks to discuss the recent book. Some people stay silent and listen, and others love to share their thoughts. What ever you feel you want to give each tie we meet is up to you. Our book club is free but just let us know by email if you would like to join us so we can manage our numbers. Cakes and drinks are available to purchase on the night.

If you love playing scrabble, this event is perfect for you. Britain’s first World Scrabble Champion and reigning Seniors World Champ Mark Nyman takes you on his journey around the weird and wonderful world of International Scrabble. Mark covers the origins of the game, top tips on how to become a better player, best words, highest scores, lots of lovely anecdotes from his event experiences and there’s the opportunity to ask any questions along the way. Sacred Smoke Workshop

Countdown Secrets

Countdown was Channel 4’s first ever show in November 1982 and Mark Nyman appeared at the age of 16 in Series 3. He went on to become the first “Champion of Champions” and ultimately the show’s Producer in the 1990’s. Lots of fun stories from both in front of and behind the scenes with Richard and Carol, some conundrums and a Q+A. Tickets are £5 each.
